A Programme Policy Committee (PPC) is a high level committee which advises all three projects in the ASCLME Programme; i.e. the ASCLME project, SWIOFP and WIO-LaB. The PPC guides the development of effective TDAs and SAPs at the policy level. Representatives on the PPC are at the deputy director general, permanent secretary level or higher. A Programme Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) is a technical group comprising three project managers (for the ASCLME project, SWIOFP and WIO-LaB) and key experts from the region. It coordinates action across the three projects. Although this committee was not foreseen by the project document, the Project Steering Committee recommended the inclusion of ReCoMaP on this committee and in other relevant regional initiatives. A Project Steering Committee (PSC) which drives the focus of the Project within the ambit of the Project Document and provides the main forum for country oversight and ownership, in addition to involving close partners. A Project Coordination Unit (PCU) is hosted by the South African government in Grahamstown. The unit is led by a project director, Dr David Vousden. A Cruise Coordination Group (CCG) aims to ensure the most efficient use of ship’s time between the three projects. It also coordinates the inputs from the individual national cruise coordinators. Inter-ministerial committees (IMC), build on the existing IMCs which have been established in each country by the WIOLaB project. A TDA and SAP preparation team will coordinate the drafting of individual TDAs and SAPs for the Agulhas and Somali Current LMEs.
