ASCLME Cruise results

1.    Raw data

Raw data from all of the ASCLME cruises is available to participating countries, from a project FTP server. Access to the FTP site is managed by the Data and Information Working Group. For further information, please contact the Data and Information Coordinator for your country. Once publications are completed, these data will be made available in the public domain. 2.    Processed data

As data are processed, they will be added to the FTP archives. Data will be disseminated to National Oceanographic Data Centres, Regional data centres and the World Ocean Database. See the ASCLME Data Management Policy documents.

3.    Publications

One of the objectives of the ASCLME Project is to gather new information about the Agulhas and Somali Currents and how they interact with and influence the climate, biodiversity and economies of the region. Data and specimens collected during the ASCLME research cruises to East Madagascar (2008), Mauritius (2008), Mascarene Plateau (2008), Seychelles Bank (2008), Mozambique Channel (2008-2010), North-Mozambique Shelf (2009), West Madagascar (2009), Comoros Gyre (2009) and the Seamounts of the southwest Indian Ocean Ridge (2009) must be analysed and the results disseminated in a form that will assist in the development of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis. ASCLME also encourages the publication of the research findings in peer reviewed international journals and are planning a special issue in Deep Sea Research II towards the end of 2011.
