Welcome to the ASCLME Project

Between 2008 and 2013, the nine countries of the western Indian Ocean region, including Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Somalia, South Africa and Tanzania, will work together through the UNDP supported GEF financed Agulhas and Somali Current Large Marine Ecosystems (ASCLME) Project.

Funding Agency

The Global Environment Facility provides the funding for the ASCLME Project along with co-financing from Country and other international partners.

Implementing Agency

The United Nations Development Programme is responsible for implementing the Project through the Mauritius Country Office.

Executing Agency

The United Nations Office for Project Services is responsible for providing administrative and logistical support to the Project.
